In addition to the ‘Pudhumai Penn’ scheme, the government is also taking steps to establish working women’s hostels in various districts, providing safe and affordable accommodation for working women.
As part of the program, Minister Sakkarapani distributed welfare schemes worth Rs 2.89 crore to 624 beneficiaries from the departments of horticulture and the differently-abled welfare department. Furthermore, 470 bicycles worth Rs 19.34 lakh were distributed to government higher secondary school students in Mathur, Samalpatti, and Athikanur.
