Hero Surge S32

Hero MotoCorp’s owned startup, Surge, has unveiled its maiden product, the Surge S32. This innovative vehicle combines the features of an electric scooter and a 3W electric vehicle, offering a modular solution for carrying cargo or ferrying passengers. This unique concept marks the first of its kind in India, showcasing Hero’s commitment to innovation and pushing boundaries.

The Surge S32 is designed to cater to the needs of self-employed individuals, providing them with a versatile and efficient mode of transportation. It allows users to seamlessly switch between the functionality of a 3W vehicle and a scooter, offering convenience and flexibility on any terrain. The vehicle is equipped with adaptive controls and fail-safe operations to ensure a smooth transition between modes.

At first glance, the Surge S32 resembles a typical 3W electric cargo vehicle or rickshaw. It features a front passenger cabin with a windscreen, headlights, turn indicators, and windscreen wipers. While there are no doors, Surge may offer removable and zippered soft doors as an optional accessory for weather protection.

The battery and powertrain of the Surge S32 are divided between the 3W vehicle and the scooter. The 3W vehicle boasts a power output of 10 kW (13.4 bhp) and is equipped with an 11 kWh battery. On the other hand, the scooter offers a power output of 3 kW (4 bhp) and is powered by a sizable 3.5 kWh battery. The scooter has a slightly higher top speed of 60 km/h, while the 3W vehicle reaches a maximum speed of 50 km/h. Additionally, the 3W vehicle has a load carrying capacity of 500 kg, making it suitable for various cargo requirements. Surge will offer three variants of cargo models and one variant specifically designed for carrying passengers (e-rickshaw).

The Surge S32 is a game-changer in the electric vehicle market, offering a unique solution for individuals who require both a cargo vehicle and a personal transportation means. The modular design of the vehicle allows users to adapt to their changing needs and optimize their efficiency. Whether it’s delivering goods or commuting within the city, the Surge S32 provides a versatile and eco-friendly option.

Hero MotoCorp’s Surge startup has truly revolutionized the concept of class-shifting vehicles with the Surge S32. By combining the functionalities of an electric scooter and a 3W vehicle, Hero has created a product that caters to the demands of self-employed individuals. With its innovative features, adaptive controls, and seamless transition, the Surge S32 sets a new standard for modular vehicles in India. As Hero continues to push the boundaries of innovation, the Surge S32 promises to be just the beginning of a new era in electric mobility.
