Situated in the industrial hub, GIDC Sanand with access to a strong network of suppliers, this new facility was acquired from Ford India, on January 10, 2023. It will be Tata Motors’ second plant in Gujarat, spanning 460 acres, where ICE and EV models will be produced. The plant has four main shops: one each for stamping, body construction, painting, and final assembly. All four shops are highly automated and outfitted with the newest technology to guarantee precision manufacturing. The business released a statement stating that this facility has integrated a number of cutting-edge technologies that will establish new standards in the sector.

As per the plans for production ramp-up, the plant, which employs over a thousand people (including staff and technicians), will generate another thousand jobs in the next three to four months in the surrounding area. By offering its employees a diploma, bachelor of engineering, or master’s degree, depending on the situation, Tata Motors has made an investment in their upskilling. Tata Motors has a 50 KW solar rooftop installed in the plant as part of its commitment to sustainability. By December 2024, it is anticipated that this water-neutral plant will be water-positive.
